Professional Experience
Carla Carter is a partner at the corporate law firm Davis & Carter in Chicago. She specializes in Intellectual Property law and has been lead counsel on hundreds of cases representing clients in Intellectual Property, commercial, civil, and appellate litigation.
Carla has and continues to successfully represent patent and trademark owners in infringement actions that result in settlements and has pursued pursuing claims of legal malpractice, deceptive business practices, acquisitions, transfers of IP licensing, and employee retention matters for a multitude of clients.
Prior to her career in law, Carla was a biochemist working at the University of Chicago on new drug therapies and clinical trials in the Hematology/Oncology department.
In her spare time, Carla is certified in Power Pilates instruction, a lecturer for Arch Career Services, and has been named a Super Lawyer Honoree for Litigation in 2023, 2024, and again for the 2025 calendar year.
